Dr. Jelena Krunić graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of East Sarajevo, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2005 as the best student of her generation. In 2010, she obtained a Master’s degree in medicine (topic: Relationship between Caries and Xerostomia Caused by Psychotropic Drugs in Women with Different Estrogenic Status) and completed a specialization in dental disease and endodontics at the Medical Faculty of the University of East Sarajevo. In 2015, she completed her PhD thesis at the same faculty (topic: Ozone in Restorative Dental Therapy: Antibacterial Effect and Impact on VEGF in Dental Pulp). Since graduating, she has been employed at the Faculty of Medicine, and in 2016 she was elected Assistant Professor at the Department of Dental Pathology. So far, she has published more than 40 papers in international and national peer-reviewed journals, has presented more than 60 papers at international and national conferences, and has given numerous invited lectures. He is the co-author of a monograph (“Intersensory Medication in Endodontic Therapy”) and a practicum (“Practicum for Preclinical Exercises in Dental Disease”). Dr. Krunic participates in the work of the editorial and publishing board of the journal Biomedical Research and DentalArt KDS. She is the winner of the Award for Scientific-Research Work of the Chamber of Dentistry Doctors of RS and the Plaque for the best researcher of the Medical Faculty of the University of East Sarajevo. Her primary research work relates to orofacial pain, caries treatment and endodontic tooth therapy.
