European Commission in 2005 adopted European Charter for Researches and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researches which aim to ensuring same rights and obligations for researches regardless in which European country they work. European Charter for Researches defines rights and obligations for researches and their organizations, and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researches ensures equal recruitment procedures for all researches and increases its transparency in all European territory.
Supporting the importance of these documents University of East Sarajevo signed the Declaration on Endorsing European Charter for Researches and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researches on February 7, 2013. In 2016 University submitted the application for „Human Resource Excellence in Research Award“ to the European Commission. The prestigious „HR“ logo was granted to the University of East Sarajevo in 2017, which is given to the institutions which are making progress in harmonization of institutional procedures and politics with 40 principals from European Charter and Code.
For the purpose of implementation of European Charter and Code at the University of East Sarajevo the Strategy for Human Resources for Researches and Action Plan were adopted, which is the result of Internal Analysis carried out on the University. In such way University of East Sarajevo tends to improve rights of researches and transparency in their recruitment, and becomes the institution attractive not just for researches from the region, but from the whole Europe and the world.
