A two-day workshop on media literacy, organized by the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of East Sarajevo and the OSCE Mission to BiH, took place on March 3 and 4 in the premises of the Faculty of Philosophy in Pale.
Participants of the workshop had the opportunity to get the information on the importance of the media as institutions, problems and challenges of various media content, as well as the role of new media and communication technologies in contemporary society.
Also, the workshop was aimed at familiarizing students with the role and influence of the media on individuals, as well as the society as a whole, and encouraging them to critically reflect on the media and media content, in order to resist possible media manipulations more effectively and be more active citizens in a democratic society.
Some of the conclusions of the workshop were that media literacy as a course should be studied not only within the journalism study program, but also in other study programs, even in primary and secondary schools.
