At the ceremony, held on May 24th, on the occasion of the Day and Eucharistic Celebration of the University of East Sarajevo, awards and prizes were awarded to institutions and individuals responsible for the development of the most important educational institution in the eastern part of Republic of Srpska.
Rector of the University of East Sarajevo prof. Dr. Stevo Pašalić said that many results were summed up in the scientific, scientific-research and teaching process these days, when the University’s 26 years were celebrated.
“We rewarded those from public life who, with their merits, underlined the development of the University, especially our best students“ said Rector Pašalić. The highest recognition, the Orden of the University, was given to the Prime Minister of the Government of Republic of Srpska, Mrs. Željka Cvijanović. On behalf of the Prime Minister, the prize was taken by the Minister of Science and Technology Mr. Alen Šeranić.
Minister Šeranić said that the University of East Sarajevo represented an important link of science and scientific research in Srpska, primarily through modern study programs helping students to be part of contemporary trends in Srpska as well as through natural and technical sciences with which it was connected with economy in Srpska.
The Minister of Education and Culture of Republic of Srpska Mr. Dane Maleševic pointed out that the University of East Sarajevo had already given certain results, especially regarding students who were easily enrolled in universities for advancement in Master and PhD studies, after graduation from this University.
Among others, acknowledgments were awarded to the best students of our University, those who had the best average grade in the final year of the study.
