On Saturday, 26 October 2024, the Faculty of Law held the XIII Scientific Conference on the Occasion of the Day of the Faculty of Law on the general theme „Law Between Protection and Abuse“. The Conference was attended by 240 participants from 26 countries from five continents (Greece, Russia, India, China, Italy, Hungary, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Peru, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Georgia, Sweden, Malta, Slovakia, Vietnam, Albania, Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina – Republic of Srpska and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), who presented 192 papers in Serbian, Russian, English, Italian, or the native language of the participant.
In terms of the number of authors, countries they come from, number of papers and number and reputation of the co-organizers, the Scientific Conference on the Occasion of the Day of the Faculty of Law is the largest legal conference held in this year in the Europe. Co-organizers of the Scientific conference are the European Public Law Organization, the International Union of Lawyers, the Institute for Comparative Law, the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research, and the Serbian Association for Criminal Law and Practice.
More than half of the participants presented their work in person at the Faculty of Law in Pale, while others took part online via Zoom platform. The Conference began with the plenary session at which the world-renowned legal scholars delivered their keynote addresses. The simultaneous work in nine sections followed, where the participants presented their papers in person or online. Finally, the organizers closed the Conference, thanking all the participants and co-organizers and extending their wishes to continue this fruitful cooperation in the years to come.
The successfully held Scientific Conference is a reflection of the regional, European, and even worldwide reputation of the Faculty of Law of the University of East Sarajevo. The international scientific and research organizations and associations who placed their confidence in the Faculty of Law by co-organizing the Conference and the world-renowned legal scholars who took part in it stand as proof that our Faculty developed into one of the most prestigious and prominent institutions of legal science in Southeast Europe and beyond.
