The University was founded when Republic of Srpska was founded. It currently has around 8,000 students, including around 450 foreigners from 29 countries. Now it will have fantastic working conditions. The concert hall should be completed in the coming months
The Rector of the University of East Sarajevo, Milan Kulić, said in an interview with Srna that this institution, which was founded when Republic of Srpska was founded, could not have wished for a better start to 2025 than moving to a new building, in which around 11.5 million KM was invested.
After moving out of the old building at the end of the year, Kulić said that after the holidays everyone would start working in the new Rectorate building.
Kulić thanked the Government of Republic of Srpska, the President of Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the relevant Minister, Željko Budimir, for their support, as well as the city of East Sarajevo.
“It is a big day for us at the University of East Sarajevo. Without the Government of Republic of Srpska, we could not have done anything. I thank the Government, which invested a lot of money, and especially President Dodik. This was his wish. He insisted that this would be the most beautiful building in East Sarajevo. I do not think we disappointed him. Not all the work has been finished yet, and this building will cost around 11.5 million KM,” Kulić said.
He added that the new Rectorate building would also house the Music Academy.
He said that the concert hall, which should be completed in the coming months, would give a special soul to East Sarajevo and would be multifunctional.
